Dark Hojicha Powder, a finely milled hojicha powder, produced from first-harvest green tea leaves that are carefully roasted and stone ground, it has a smooth, nutty flavour with hints of roasted hazelnut, cocoa, and light caramel.

This is the darkest roasted hojicha powder in the HOHO lineup. Enjoy its deep roasting aroma and rich, full bodied flavor. 

Naturally low in caffeine and gentle on the stomach, Hoho Powder is ideal for afternoon or evening enjoyment. It works beautifully in lattes, smoothies, and baking, adding a unique roasted tea flavour to drinks and desserts.

How to Prepare

Step 1: Sift 2 tsp (4g) of hojicha tea powder into your cup.

Step 2: Add 30ml of water at 80°C. Whisk until smooth.

Step 3: Add 120 ml of your beverage of choice, such as water or milk.

I got both light and dark roast, both are really good but I do prefer the dark roast more because of a richer and stronger flavour of hojicha. If you like a more subtle flavour then light roast might be better for you

This is my first time trying Hojicha. I liked the smoky chocolate flavour that first hits you, but there is an aftertaste I'm not so sure about. It's also a very delicate flavour. I had it as an iced latte but I believe it may be better as a hot latte.

This hojicha powder is extremely creamy. I have only had it in the form of a long hojicha/americano type drink with coconut water and the flavour was smooth. There was no bitterness and it was a clean nutty, chocolatey hojicha flavour.
