Produced by Hoshino Seichaen, a tea master with over 70 years of expertise, this tin offers an exceptional ceremonial grade matcha made from carefully shaded, hand picked tencha leaves.

Ennen no Mukashi is a refined matcha officially favoured by Zabosai, the 16th-generation Grand Master of the Urasenke school of tea ceremony.

Created to reflect the exacting standards and traditions of Urasenke, it offers an elegant and balanced character suitable for traditional preparation.

How to Prepare

Water Temperature: 70–80°C (158–176°F)

Matcha Amount: 1.5–2g (1 tsp)

Water Amount: 60–70ml for usucha
Whisk vigorously in an "M" motion with a chasen (bamboo whisk) until a creamy froth forms.

Tasting Notes

Exceptionally creamy with a balanced depth of umami, it reveals roasted, nutty notes reminiscent of sesame.
