Produced by Hoshino Seichaen, a tea master with over 70 years of expertise, this tin offers an exceptional ceremonial grade matcha made from carefully shaded, hand picked tencha leaves.

Yame no Shiro is a refined matcha officially favoured by Grand Master of the Urasenke school of tea ceremony. Created to reflect the exacting standards and traditions of Urasenke, it offers an elegant and balanced character suitable for traditional preparation. 
Flavour profile: Toasted nuts, balanced umami and a buttery, creamy texture, with a smooth finish and very little bitterness.

As availability is currently limited, we kindly ask customers to order a maximum of 2 tins of Hoshino tea per person. Orders exceeding this limit will be cancelled and a £5 fee applied. Thank you for your understanding and support as we work to make this tea accessible to everyone.

How to Prepare

Water Temperature: 70–80°C (158–176°F)

Matcha Amount: 1.5–2g (1 tsp)

Water Amount: 60–70ml for usucha
Whisk vigorously in an "M" motion with a chasen (bamboo whisk) until a creamy froth forms.

Tasting Notes

Toasted nuts, balanced umami and a buttery, creamy texture, with a smooth finish and very little bitterness.
