The Kanbayashi Shunsho family is one of Uji’s most esteemed tea producers, carrying a legacy of more than fifteen generations dating back to the Eiroku era (around 1560). Today, the Kanbayashi Shunsho family remains the sole surviving lineage of Uji’s historic tea masters, upholding over 450 years of tradition. Their enduring commitment to craftsmanship and quality continues to define their celebrated approach to tea.
Wakamori no Shiro is a seasonal matcha released to celebrate the start of the winter tea season in Japan.
Made from carefully stored tea leaves freshly ground for this seasonal release, this matcha is smooth and mellow, with a medium body and gentle woody and nutty notes reminiscent of roasted chestnuts. A light initial spiciness softens into a velvety finish without pronounced bitterness.
