Kodemari gama - Glass Matcha Bowl

This handcrafted glass matcha bowl from Kyoto’s Kodemari-gama features delicate bamboo leaves, colourful tanzaku wish strips and stars beneath a clear, textured glass surface. 

Created by a Kyoto certified craftsperson, the decoration draws on traditional Kyoto overglaze painting techniques and applies them to heat resistant glass. Its wide, shallow form makes it particularly well suited to preparing matcha, while the transparent glass allows the vivid green of the tea to become part of the design.
