Kodemari gama Goldfish Glass Matcha Bowl

A beautifully crafted clear glass matcha bowl by Kyoto artisan Masao Namikawa of Kodemari-gama. The glass is delicately hand decorated with colourful goldfish, aquatic plants and rippling water motifs, creating the impression of looking into a tranquil Japanese pond.

Each bowl is presented in its original box with an artisan biography card.

About the Artisan

Born in Kyoto in 1974, Masao Namikawa trained in ceramics before establishing Kodemari-gama with his wife in 2003. In 2007, he was recognised by Kyoto Prefecture as a Kyoto certified craftsperson, followed by an Excellence Award at a Kyoto craft competition in 2017.

His work encompasses tea utensils, tableware and painted glassware and has been exhibited at major galleries and department stores, as well as in a special exhibition at the Tokyo National Museum.
