Established in 1992, Seishoen is a tea producer based in Hoshino Village, one of Yame’s most highly regarded tea-growing areas. Its tea gardens are situated high in the mountains, where clean air, abundant mist and the region’s distinctive mineral rich soil create ideal growing conditions.
Seishoen oversees every stage of production, from cultivating and harvesting the leaves to processing, finishing and packaging the tea. Particular care is given to the final roasting stage, which plays an important role in defining each tea’s aroma and flavour. This complete control allows Seishoen to produce authentic Hoshino tea with a distinctive balance of richness, sweetness and depth.
Produced in Hoshino Village, Yame, this finely milled gyokuro powder delivers the tea’s naturally rich flavour in an easy-to-use form. It has a deep yet refined umami character, gentle vegetal sweetness and a smooth mouthfeel, with very little bitterness.
Unlike traditionally infused gyokuro, the whole powdered leaf is consumed. Enjoy it on its own, mix it with milk for a creamy gyokuro latte, or add it to pancakes, desserts and baking.
