Tango Tanimura - Special Dark Bamboo Matcha Whisk (Shin Chasen)

Handcrafted by 20th generation master craftsman Tango Tanimura, this exceptional Shin Chasen embodies more than 500 years of Japanese heritage and craftsmanship. A rare piece, produced in highly limited quantities in the world.

Each whisk is individually carved by hand from carefully selected kurotake (black bamboo), prized for its natural beauty, strength and durability. The elegant Shin shape features gracefully curved tines that help incorporate air evenly, creating a smooth, creamy foam when preparing usucha.

Before First Use

Before using for the first time, gently soak only the prongs in hot water. This softens the bamboo and helps prevent breakage. Avoid soaking the handle.

Care & Precautions

• Use gently—pressing firmly against the bottom of the tea bowl may cause the prongs to snap.
• Do not place in a dishwasher.
• After use, rinse with water and allow to dry completely before storing.
• Store in a cool, dry place away from humidity, extreme dryness, heat, and direct sunlight.
